Commodity Chains
The
commodities for each country were chosen from a pool of the following
CAP commodities: beef, pig meat, poultry, dairy, cereals, potatoes,
grapes (wine). The criteria for the choice were (a) their importance
to the national agri-food sector, (b) their relevance for EU agricultural
policy making, and (c) their ability to fit into the research
design of the project and contribute to the fulfillment of its
objectives.
In
the 6 countries,
at least two commodities are being analysed, resulting into a
total of 13 individual studies. Due to the size of Germany it
was decided that in this specific case 3 commodity-chains will
be reviewed.
